[MassHistPres] Boston Preservation Alliance 2009 Awards Nominations

The Boston Preservation Alliance is soliciting nominations for our Annual
Preservation Achievement Awards program. The 2009 awards recognize exemplary
preservation projects or activities that have taken place within the past
year.  Submissions should be limited to properties in Boston's neighborhoods
or downtown.   

 

Winners of this year's awards will be honored at the Alliance's 2009 Auction
and Awards event to be held in April 2009.  Please visit
www.bostonpreservation.org to download the nomination form. Nominations must
be received by Wednesday, December 17, 2008. 

 

Categories considered by the Awards Committee:

 

       1.         Notable new construction in harmony with Boston's built
environment.

 

2.         Significant renovation/restoration preserving Boston's
architectural or cultural heritage.

 

3.         Significant public art contributing to Boston's urban fabric.

 

4.         Notable examples of parks, landscapes, and natural areas that are
new or have been preserved or restored.

 

5.         Significant lighting and design in the harmony with Boston's
built environment.

 

6.         Significant neighborhood preservation efforts.

 

7.         John Codman Award for lifetime achievement in preservation.
