[MassHistPres] Date signs for houses

I am interested in encouraging the display of date signs ("Circa 1851" for my house) on old buildings in my area of Maine. I would appreciate any help finding design information for these signs such as size, style and cost. Do emergency service officials ever object to date signs since they can look like street addresses?
