CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!

Please join us...We need your help! The National Trust for Historic Preservation's Northeast Office in Boston is looking for energetic volunteers of all ages for two events to support the Partners in Preservation program.

[http://my.preservationnation.org/images/content/pagebuilder/64980.jpg]The National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express are giving away $1 million in preservation grants to Greater Boston historic places. 25 places that reflect the region's rich and diverse cultural heritage will compete for public votes to help them secure a grant through an on-line voting contest. We need your help to get the word out.

On Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, we need help representing the Partners in Preservation program at the Sports & Fitness Expo at the Hynes Convention Center. Volunteers are needed to help us staff a booth, informing and exciting attendees about the initiative and encouraging them to vote.  An orientation and program t-shirt will be provided.

On Tuesday, April 28, the MBTA (a sponsor of the Partners in Preservation program) has approved T-stop leafleting at the North, South, Back Bay, Government Center and Downtown Crossing stations.  Volunteers will be needed at these T-stops from 6 to 9 a.m. that day to hand out fliers informing commuters about the initiative and encouraging them to vote.  Again, an orientation and program t-shirt will be provided.
