Sara,
Warren and I moved our house (c. 1810) from one side of Sherborn to the
other a number of years ago. The usual appraised value of an antique
building only (for removal to another site) is one dollar. The costs
involved in moving, site work, well, septic are of course considerable
and that is before the renovation costs begin. I assume you are asking
about the saltbox on Farm Street and really hope something can be worked
out.

We have also rehabbed a very run down but not antique house in Sherborn
and for that appraisal we used Ken McDonough. Can't find his number at
the moment but I will try to get it for you.

Hope this helps. See you in Cotuit.

APPRAISER SOUGHT

I am seeking a recommendation for an appropriate appraiser to value a
c.1724 dwelling that would potentially be moved, hence "comes with"
neither its foundation nor with land.
