HISTORIC PRESERVATION ON THE WEB

Historic panoramic maps for many cities and towns in Massachusetts can
be viewed at

http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/pmhtml/panmap.html
<http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/pmhtml/panmap.html>

These oblique birds eye view maps were popular during the late
nineteenth and early twentieth centuries for representing downtowns and
village centers. Although not necessarily to scale, these illustrated
maps offer useful information for researchers.
