[MassHistPres] RFQ: Reading Historical & Architectural Inventory Expansion

The Reading Historical Commission will be seeking proposals from qualified consultants to expand Reading’s existing Historical and Architectural Inventory by conducting a community-wide survey. The purpose of this project is to identify and inventory additional cultural and architectural resources by adding approximately 100 residential and commercial structures to the Inventory following Massachusetts Historical Commission standards.
Applicants must have: 1) a Bachelor’s degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, or a closely related field, plus at least two years full-time experience in an area relevant to the project; or 2) a Master’s degree in any of the above-mentioned areas.
Interested parties should send a letter of interest and resume no later than 5:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2009 to:

All qualified parties will be sent a Request for Proposals upon submission of a letter of interest and resume. The Town of Reading is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer in its programs and activities.
Requests for Proposals will be available to be sent on July 13, 2009 and will be due no later than Wednesday, August 19, 2009.
The Town of Reading reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, or to award or not to award the contract for any reason the Historical Commission determines to be in the Town’s and/or the public’s best interest.
