[MassHistPres] West Tisbury Mill Pond Preservation

Does anyone have any information about ponds in historic districts being protected, or CPA funds used to preserve? Ours is a man made pond, and it is shallow and filling up with weeds, in danger of disappearing. Town has been reluctant to spend money to dredge it. It's kind of like demolition by neglect, but I don't think there is anything we can do about it officially. Citizen group that would like to preserve pond asked if any other districts have found it possible to use CPA funds for historic preservation in this type of situation.
