STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLAN 2011-2015 QUESTIONS

If you can't attend a public meeting but would like to offer some
thoughts, the Massachusetts Historical Commission would like to hear
your response to the five basic questions listed below:

1. What do you see as the most important historic preservation
accomplishments in Massachusetts over the past five years?

2. What do you see as the most important issues facing historic
preservation in Massachusetts during the next five years?

3. What do you see as the most important issues facing historic
preservation in your region or community over the next five years?

4. What are the historic preservation goals that should be included in
this five year state historic preservation plan and who should implement
them?

5. With what tools could you be a more effective historic preservation
advocate?

Please email your responses to Christopher.Skelly at state.ma.us

INACTIVE LOCAL HISTORICAL COMMISSIONS

As part of creating the State Historic Preservation Plan for 2011-2015,
the Massachusetts Historical Commission is reviewing the activity status
of local historical commissions throughout the state. Although almost
every one of the 351 cities and towns of Massachusetts has formally
established a local historical commission, some commissions are
currently inactive. Commissions that have not submitted a membership
update form to our office within the past few years may be considered
inactive. A goal to include in the plan is reactivating these
commissions. For more information, contact
