[MassHistPres] Snow Hooks

[Kristi Chase]

A homeowner of a turreted Queen Anne has come in with a request to
install pigtail snow hooks on their slate roof.  The house is dated
1890.  Is there a good source on the history of snow hooks?  Is one type
of snow hook more preferable than another for a house of this age?
