[MassHistPres] invisible marking for antiques

If you put down a layer of "Removable Solvent Finishing Matt Varnish" then 
used a UV pen as made by Independent Ink, inc of Gardenia. Ca. to write the 
accession number. Then a finish coat of The Varnish. You would have a 
removable marking but not highly noticeable.
I once marked directly on the ceramic as a test, with the UV pen, and it 
sank into the ceramic, and nothing will remove it, yet ! But that would be 
against Curatorial Standards.
Also photograph the Collection from every angle.
