[MassHistPres] Protecting historic buildings before selling them

Sarah,
Kingston sold off its old Town House, a very unique and historic building to a private individual, and the Historical Commission requested that a preservation restriction be placed upon it before its sale. 

Although the selectmen were quite willing to add a PR, the process for getting the thing written and approved by the town and Mass Historical was quite lengthy.  We did eventually get it done.

Our commission is in the process of having PRs placed on its other historic buildings with an eye towards their future resale.  Having one in place prior to negotiations can avoid a lot of problems later.
