Bring rooted from a culture hearted to archeology, it is exciting to see areas of ancient culture here.
However, I wish there was a change here, which makes preservation a priority, and helps awareness, to keep ancient culture 'alive'.
There are many areas around to explore, yet there are not many noted sites of Native American history on the map.

I wish the local museums, which have a collection of artifacts from the region, collaborate their inventory with local historic commissions... who are researching sites to preserve.
I wish Native American sites were not a secret. Destruction by development is much worse than looting.
I hope the laws improve, to make the preservation of ancient sites a priority.

This Native American mortar is found in front of a local museum, donated in 1913, the same year an important site was subdivided.
There are two sites we are trying to preserve. Only if research was collaborated, preservation of sites would be made easier.

I am happy to see these elements still in existence, and some still connected to the landscapes they came from. It is a blessing to imagine the experience of primal humanity, in its pure sense.
Happy Archeology Month, and good luck to those who are working on research.

Peace,

Panagiotakis, Katerina
