Art Deco Walking Tour with Boston Preservation Alliance & Boston By Foot

Though Boston is less well known for its Art Deco architecture than New York

and Miami, it can claim examples of Art Deco design that would rival New
York's finest. In our 90-minute walk led by Boston By Foot, we will see
examples of Art Deco architecture in government, business, theatre,
religious, and retail buildings from skyscrapers to four-story Deco jewel
boxes.

Stops include:
* John W. McCormack Post Office and Courthouse
* Verizon (New England Telephone) Building
* Batterymarch Building (Hilton Hotel)
* Western Union Building (now Hamilton Building)
* United Shoe Machinery Building (now The Landmark)
* Second National Bank (now an office building)
* Paramount Theatre

Date: Saturday, May 7th
Time: 11AM
Location: We will meet at Angell Memorial Park in Post Office Square
(intersection of Congress and Milk Streets).

This event is free for Alliance members and $10 for non-members. Space is
limited and tickets must be purchased in advance by May 3rd to reserve a
spot. Checks may be made out and mailed to Boston Preservation Alliance, 45
School Street, Boston, MA 02108.
