Workshop on Understanding and Protecting Your Stained Glass Windows
Date: Saturday, March 12th, 9:30 am -11:30 am
Location: Serpentino Stained Glass, 21 Highland Circle, Needham, MA
Stained-glass windows play an important role in the creation of Boston's
most beautiful sacred spaces. But they can become fragile over time. Join
the Boston Preservation Alliance and Serpentino Stained Glass for an
exclusive look at how stained-glass windows are made, how best to protect
and preserve them, and what resources are available to help with their
restoration, if this becomes necessary.
This workshop will explore:
* how to assess your windows' condition
* how to care for them inside and out
* where to turn for professional help
* how to obtain and assess proposals for professional restoration
* where to turn for restoration funding
We will meet at Spiga Restaurant, 18 Highland Circle, Needham, where a light
Continental breakfast will be provided before the workshop.
This event is free for Alliance members and $5 for non-members but space is
limited and tickets must be purchased in advance to reserve a space. Please
send checks to Boston Preservation Alliance, 45 School Street, Boston, MA
02108 by March 1st to save your spot. For more information, please contact
Christine Piontek at 617-367-2458 or cpiontek at bostonpreservation.org
