The Newton Planning Department, by and through the City ofNewton, is seeking proposals from qualified historic preservation consultantsto undertake the creation of “Historic Preservation Design Guidelines.” Proposals must be received at the City ofNewton Purchasing Department, Newton City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Avenue,Newton, Massachusetts, 02459, on or before 9:30 am, Thursday, August 25, 2011.
The City of Newton reserves the right to reject any and allbids or to waive any informalities in the Proposal process, if deemed in theCity’s best interest.
The Request for Proposals (RFP), containing the scope ofwork, proposal requirements, and evaluation criteria, will be / is availableupon request after 10:00 am, Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the PurchasingDepartment, Newton City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton, Massachusetts,02459.
Proposers must meet the following minimum qualifications.Combined key personnel (can be more than one person) shall have the following:(1) a graduate degree in Architecture, Architectural History, HistoricPreservation, Art History, or a closely related field; and (2) five years ofprofessional experience in historic preservation.
