[MassHistPres] Demolition of Oldest House in Randolph

Fellow preservationists

After two years of the Historical Commission trying to save the
oldest house in Randolph, the Town Manager and Building Inspector
have determined that it is too structurally unsafe and must be
demolished next week. Last year we had a structural engineer review
the house, and determine that while there were some structural
issues, there was nothing that couldn't be fixed.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Do we have any options. Our
demolition bylaw allows the building inspector to do a teardown of a
house that is determined to be a public safety hazard.

Henry Cooke
Chairman
Randolph Historical Commission.
