We are looking for advice on the issues that Historical Societies or preservation groups have encountered with such plans or, better yet, are there examples of long term plans in place people can share? Also, do other groups have a successful format for keeping records of materials used?

a simple idea from 'How Buildings Learn' is a log that stays with the building, no matter the owner (like a ship's log) of all work performed. Even better, keep a copy off premises. I find it so frustrating that even well-respected organizations keep such minimal records of building repairs.

Attached are some templates of maintenance plan and work log. I hope pdf attachments work on this listserve.
