Subject: Boston National Historical Park seeks volunteers
To:

Boston National Historical Park is recruiting volunteers with a passion for
history who want to do something meaningful and have a positive impact on
the hundreds of thousands of visitors expected at the new Faneuil Hall
Visitor Center, opening on May 25, 20012.

Volunteers-In-Parks (VIPs) will work side-by-side with National Park
Service employees and partners to share knowledge of Boston’s history,
answer telephones, distribute program tickets and provide a friendly
welcome at the new visitor center.

“Volunteering with Boston National Historical is fun, it makes a
difference, and it’s easy to get started,” said Superintendent Cassius
Cash. “It’s a great way to meet new people, gain experience, and give back
to the community.”

Behind the scenes tours, continuing education learning opportunities, and
special programs are offered for volunteers only. Tax credits, senior
citizens’ reimbursements and, in some cases, reimbursements for
out-of-pocket expenses may be available.

The park service will provide volunteer uniforms and professional training.

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering with the National
Park Service at the new Faneuil Hall visitor center and are committed to
working a shift of two to four hours per week for a minimum of two years,
contact Boston National Historical Park Volunteer Program Manager
Bernadette Williams at (617) 242-5222 or bernadette_williams at nps.gov.
