[MassHistPres] TruSlate Query

This is the first I've heard of it. The website is interesting-a hybrid system with parts of it being real slate. I'd be interested to see a cost comparison for a real job. I'm not convinced that it would be enough cheaper than traditional slate to risk trying a brand new system. Limited 50 year warranty. 20 years on installation work.

A contractor has just come in recommending TruSlate by GAF. Has this product been approved by any historic architectural review boards or commissions? Does anyone know it track record? It has a 'lifetime' guarantee.
