I have a homeowner with an 1892 Victorian that has a rather large copper
finial 3 1/2 feet tall and 3 - 3 1/2 feet across the base that is made in
sections more like pillows than balls. We've been asked to put it back
together after it got blown off the roof. The challenging part is that it
appears that there was originally additional pieces above what the owners
are currently looking at and what can be seen in pictures that are 60+
years old.
Are there any "pillow like" finials in the area? Does anyone have pictures
of old finials with a similar description?
Any thoughts would be helpful.
