We in Orleans just amended the demo- delay bylaw to allow for only a year to proceed with demolition following expiration of the 1year delay. This due to a real estate speculator and a lawyer applying for, receiving and pocketing for future use the ability to demolish our historic building stock. P.S. - the lawyer is Town Moderator. 
Remember the first thing you do following the revolution....
