[MassHistPres] State of Mass Permit Extension Act of 2012

According to DHCD enforcement orders are not included in the Act. Nor are federal laws of course and some other actions.

We in Orleans just amended the demo- delay bylaw to allow for only a year to proceed with demolition following expiration of the 1year delay. This due to a real estate speculator and a lawyer applying for, receiving and pocketing for future use the ability to demolish our historic building stock. P.S. - the lawyer is Town Moderator.

Does anyone realize that the subject "Act" extends the sunset clause of a Town's demo delay bylaw by 4 years? It means that now after the demo delay expires the applicant has 4 years to pull a permit and demolish the building.
