[MassHistPres] VESDA smoke detection system in a historic house

We are currently investigating the installation of the VESDA  system (Very 
early warning aspirating smoke detection) for installation in the  
Cadman-White-Handy House in Westport. We will not install the sprinkler system  often 
associated with it. 
 
We would like to hear others' experience with the installation  and 
operation of this system in a historic building, including the local fire  safety 
officer's attitude towards it, names of installers, operation and  monitoring.
