Be careful to check the quality of the scans when you have them done.  As often as not, we encounter scans that are effectively illegible. If you haven't commissioned the work, you might wish to select some of the worst drawings - the ones with little contrast between line and background and blueprints with the blue field badly scratched or worn away - and have the printer send you examples of how it turns out.  A lowest price bidder may not yield satisfactory results.
