Do the citizens of Milton know "The Swift House(98 Adams St) located in
Milton Ma is the only wood framed commercial building that remains on its
original site since c.1790"?. I'm not clear if this is the oldest framed
commercial building etc in Milton or in the region, but in either case I'd
think that this fact would muster up interest in preserving it. So many
times people in a town just need to get the information that there's a
building to be proud of and the move to preserve it takes on its own life.
That's been the case here in Provincetown a few times.
Would someone write an article in the local paper or cover it on local TV?
I just did a quick search in my fave new source for all historical things,
"Google Books" and found scads of free copyright-free stuff on Milton
history.
So many people just done't realize or have any way of knowing about the
gems in their towns. Good luck!
