[MassHistPres] sensitive floor refinishing

I am interested in suggestions concerning refinishing of 130 year old oak stair treads and floors that have seen enough wear to be grainy.  They need to be finished but shouldn’t be ground down to look new.

Any suggestions for someone to do this?  And how?

Preferably a low sanding or sand free process, if that would work.
