Hello,
Brockton's query is helpfull:
I think that every town is unique when it comes to such decisions. Public
discussion and decisions of demolition (and other matters) bearing on
private property are difficult for some residents to regard as appropriate.
It seems to me that a wider discussion of how the town was formed, and the
positives and negatives of that can lead to thoughts of community values
from history, architecture, and other contributions of these properties,
acts in all cities and towns.

Subject: [MassHistPres] Demolition Delay Ordinance
Hello,
The City of Brockton is looking into the process, creation and
implementation of a Demolition Delay ordinance. If anyone has had experience
in working on such an ordinance, know of a current Massachusetts' Demo Delay
Ordinance that is in effect and in a system that works, or any other
information regarding where to start (timeline) of such a process, we'd
greatly appreciate. Brockton is looking to ramp up its historic preservation
efforts in our City Ordinance. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
