[MassHistPres] Dendrochronology Primer April 18

Historic New England, in partnership with Historic Deerfield, will hold an Ask the Experts weekend workshop, "A Primer on Dendrochronology," on Saturday, April 18, 2015, from 9 AM - 2:30 PM, at the Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm, 5 Little's Lane, Newbury, Mass. Expert speakers William Flynt of Historic Deerfield, architectural historian Anne Grady, and Newport Restoration Foundation director Pieter Roos, will discuss the use of dendrochronology, current research in this area, and how you can access testing. Morning lectures will be followed by afternoon tours of the 1690 Spencer-Pierce-Little manor house, Stekionis Tenant House, and the c. 1670 Swett-Ilsley House to view tested and potential testing sites for dendrochronological analysis. A box lunch is included.
