Hi All,

In a few short weeks, Mass=2EGov will be redesigning their website and chang=
ing how they manage content=2E This redesign will have impacts on the Depar=
tment of Conservation & Recreation's (DCR) website as well - most notably on=
 the amount of reports, publications, and other *=2Epdf files that we will b=
e able to keep posted there=2E

As a result some of the things you may be used to finding there, including a=
ll of the Heritage Landscape Inventory Reconnaissance Reports, will no longe=
r be available on the DCR website after November 11th=2E In the future, int=
erested parties will still be able to get them, but they will have to contac=
t DCR staff directly in order to obtain hard or electronic copies of these r=
eports=2E

In light of this website change, we suggest that you take the following acti=
ons at your earliest convenience:

  1=2E Visit the DCR webpage where all of the reports are located - http:/=
/www=2Emass=2Egov/eea/agencies/dcr/conservation/cultural-resources/heritage-=
landscape-inventory-reconnaissance-reports=2Ehtml=20
  2=2E Download the report(s) you are interested in
  3=2E Make copies for your own use, and feel free to post them on your own=
 municipal or non-profit webpages
  4=2E Remove any links that you may have on your website for this specific=
 page or to a link to these individual report *pdf's, as they will no longer=
 exist, and consider redirecting traffic to the DCR Office of Cultural Resou=
rces main page - the current web address for that page is: http://www=2Emas=
s=2Egov/eea/agencies/dcr/conservation/cultural-resources/=20

Please also note that other *pdf files on the DCR website may be impacted as=
 well, so I encourage you to explore and download whatever may interest you =
while they are still readily accessible=2E

Hi Everyone,

I would like to apologize for an email I distributed Wednesday that containe=
d some misinformation=2E Please allow me to provide some clarifications:

Documents that continue to be accessed and utilized will still be located wi=
thin the new mass=2Egov< " target=3D"_new">http://mass=2Egov>  website=2E If=
 it is a link anyone has visited in the last year or so, rest assured, those=
 links will still exist=2E

Documents that are important for historical reference, public record archive=
s, or targeted toward smaller technical or professional audiences, will also=
 be preserved for future use=2E I originally misunderstood this, and thought=
, for instance, that the Heritage Landscape Inventory Reconnaissance Reports=
 webpages< ," target=3D"_new">http://www=2Emass=2Egov/eea/agencies/dcr/conse=
rvation/cultural-resources/heritage-landscape-inventory-reconnaissance-repor=
ts=2Ehtml>,  were going to be removed=2E I now understand they're just being=
 moved=2E

Once completed, the new mass=2Egov will actually provide improved searchabil=
ity and findability functions for individuals interested in these types of r=
ecords=2E

Sorry for all the confusion, and I hope this email clarifies some of the inf=
ormation I previously provided=2E
