In Uxbridge we have a late 19th Century school building that is being rehabilitated and expanded to provide low-income housing. The project is being carried out by a 501(C) entity and will be under the supervision of DHCD and HUD. MassHistComm has closely followed the architectural details and has imposed some requirements for the rehab effort in terms of what must be kept intact/repaired/restored. There are also requirements that the addition appear consistent with the older part. MassHistComm has granted $900K in tax credits that will be monetized to help pay for the project.

The project is in the Rogerson's Mill Village which is on the National Register. Many of the buildings in the village date to the early 1800s and are in the State Cultural Resources inventory. My goal for 2016 is to create a Rogerson's Village Historic District to better oversee activities there.
