Would DCR be a good resource as well ? I know that there are a number of stone bridges in the Emerald Necklace The Boston Landmarks Commission might have information. They are Olmstead designed so there might be some information at The Olmstead Offices.

A good place to contact for historic bridge advice is the Cultural Resources Unit of MassDOT, Highway Division. They maintain the state’s historic bridge inventory and review public work that impacts these bridges and other historic resources.

Subject: [MassHistPres] Dry Laid Stone Bridges
There are three dry laid granite stone bridges on the Hopkinton – Southborough town line that date back to 1840. These bridges are adjacent to the Southborough T station and are in good condition but may need remedial work. Is there anyone that knows of a consultant or stone mason who can inspect these structures to confirm their condition and assist in developing restoration criteria?
Photos and site plans are available upon request.
