I am trying to find documentation on who carved the inscription on our Angle
Tree Stone Monument erected in 1790 referred in the Resolution if the
Great and General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, May Session,
1790, Chapter 37.

This was an important landmark and I am thinking that a prominent stone
carver of the time would have been employed to carve it. So far my research
shows two possible grave stone carvers:

Thomas Parks , Scottish stone carve ,(1745-1806 ) who did work in Essex
County at the Abbot St. Cemetery and Ipswich cemeteries and in Topsfield.

The other possible stone carver is : Samuel Tingley, (1752-1846) of
Attleboro who did a lot of gravestone carving in the Attleboro area.

We are having a celebration at the site on Sunday and this is a question for
which I would like to know the answer .

Can anyone steer my research in the right direction please??

Leaving no stone unturned!

Ann
