[MassHistPres] Upcoming Preservation Programs at Historic New England

Historic New England is pleased to announce the following preservation program opportunities in Massachusetts and Vermont.

On May 13, at the Fletcher Free Library,  235 College Street, Burlington, Vt., join old-house experts for "Living with Your Old House"<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HQ-VTHouse1-MTX-NL-10284/> and get answers to help you maintain and preserve your house (registration is required, call 802-989-4723 for more information).

The first in the Leading Locally: Preservation Strategies That Work one-day workshops takes place on Friday, May 19, at Merwin House, 14 Main Street, Stockbridge, Mass. "Design Review: Cases, Concepts, Issues"<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-PRESERVATION-9911/> explores issues in design review and management of local historic districts using case-study examples and mock hearings. Attendees are encouraged to submit examples from their own districts for group discussion and feedback.

The Leading Locally workshops continue with "Introduction to Establishing and Administering Preservation Restrictions"<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-PRESERVE2-9929/> on June 2 and "Caring for Municipal, Museum, and Other Non-Profit Historic Properties"<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-PRESERVE3-9930/> on June 19.

Coming this Fall, October 13 and 14, Historic New England offers a two-day Field School in Preservation Practice on "Using Easements to Protect Historic Properties."<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-EASEMENT-MTX-R-10443/> Taking place in Shirley, Mass., this in-depth course, designed for preservation students and advocates,provides a practical and theoretical understanding of this important preservation tool.
