Some spaces are still available for Historic New England's "Field School in Preservation Practice: Using Easements to Protect Historic Properties"<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-EASEMENT-MTX-R-10443/> taking place Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14 in Shirley, Mass. Learn how Historic New England administers a preservation easement program that currently protects 106 historic properties across New England.
Preservation experts Robert Adam and Marilyn Fenollosa join Historic New England staff to present lectures, case studies, and field observations that demonstrate how this critical preservation tool is implemented in real-world applications. Exercises include identification and documentation of protected features, conducting conditions assessments, annual monitoring, and decision-making for preservation treatments. See Agenda<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-EASEMENT-MTX-R-10443/> for further details.
The Field School is designed for preservation graduate students, professionals and advocates, and anyone responsible for administering preservation easements or restrictions in their community.
Registration is limited to 20 participants. $150 Historic New England members; $200 nonmembers; $75 students with ID (fee includes lunch on Saturday and snacks and beverages both days).
