A good resource is The Cemetery Conservators for United Standards. They have some interesting information on their website:
https://cemeteryconservatorsunitedstandards.org/
Their Facebook page has some good discourse and information too. Interestingly, they do not recommend Wet & Forget citing the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and lack of as thorough testing as D/2 has done. I think Arlington National uses D/2, which is a pretty good endorsement.
In Littleton, we've used Community Preservation funds for two years in a row (hopefully three) for an assessment, repair work, and cleaning. In comparison to other projects, the amounts haven't been outrageous and we've gotten a lot of professional work done and have enlightened our local people on proper cleaning and repair. It isn't a project to take lightly and a headlong approach can really damage the stones. Good luck!

It has been suggested to the Sturbridge Hstorical Commission to use D2 to clean gravestones in the Old Burial Ground. Does anyone have experience with this biological chemical?
