Preservation Massachusetts and our Conference Planning Committee are
seeking suggestions for sessions, tours, and presenters for the 2019
Statewide Historic Preservation Conference, to be held on Friday, September
20, 2019, at the Hotel 1620 in Plymouth, Mass. This biennial statewide
conference is an important opportunity to bring together those involved
with preservation, community, advocacy, and history to learn, share,
mentor, and network.

The theme of the 2019 conference is “Untold Stories in Preservation”―we
will examine the ways in which historic preservation can reflect the many
histories encapsulated within our communities and how those stories are
interpreted and presented.

 Proposed sessions should reflect the theme of the conference―either
through a model project or discussion of emerging trends, issues,
challenges, etc. Possibilities include but are not limited to:
 ● best practices and case studies;
● educational sessions for important programs and/or emerging
technologies;
● “how-to” of technical preservation; and
● preservation practices.

Proposed tours should include proposed sites, routes, and tour leaders
along with method of transportation (walking, bus, etc.) from the
conference site at Hotel 1620.

DEADLINE: May 1, 2019 Submit session and tour proposals and ideas to Julie
Roper, Conference Planner, by May 1, 2019. (jroper at preservationmass.org)
Please include:
 ● proposed title or theme of session or tour;
● suggested speakers or tour leaders;
● brief description of session, identifying the intended audience;
 ● goals of the session and how it relates to the theme of Untold Stories
in Preservation
; and
● your contact name, phone number, and email address.
