All,
Back in 2015, the Town of Dracut, Ma. "bought the farm!". With 24 acres of land abutting a major stream in town, the town's primary interest was providing open space for an area of town that was fairly densely populated. The secondary reason was to "preserve the second oldest house in Dracut, the 1730 Justus Richardson house."
After 5 years of debating, the Justus Richardson house is for sale. It's a terrific house and in very good structural condition. The house needs further research on its origins but is really a magical place. The RFP for the house is on line at the Town of Dracut website, under "procurement."
If you know any historian or preservation minded person who might be interested, please pass this information on. While we did have an open house this week, I have the keys and can show it almost anytime. I also have a series of reports on the house, which I can pass on. I'd love to see it find a deserving conservator and bring it back to its former glory.
Thank you.
