Connie,
Cuttyhunk (Town of Gosnold) has one of the oldest continually functioning
one room schoolhouses in America. Following its (last) recent graduate, a
STEAM Academy program is being established, to bring middle school students
from the mainland to the island to have the one room schoolhouse
experience. I'd suggest contacting Gail Blount on the Cuttyhunk Select
Board for updated information.
There is also a one room schoolhouse close by my home in South Dartmouth.
It was converted to a branch library in the early 1900's and about 10 years
began a new life as home of the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society.
