The Technical Preservation Services at The National Park Service has a
series of "Preservation Briefs", each one addressing a different aspect of
a structure (masonry, plaster, windows, etc). Not only great technical and
"how to" information, but represents the standards of the National Park
Service. Adherence to practices such as those outlined in the many Briefs,
could qualify a project for historic tax credits (if applicable) for
example.
