Janice,

The Town of Hopkinton was faced with a similar situation with the Aaron Claflin Inn where the Mass militia gathered prior to the revolutionary war. We were able to secure a single lot Local Historic District prior to our Demo Delay expiring. At the time our Demo Delay was 6 months and it was a miracle the timing worked but with 9 months you should be able to do it if you have consensus from Town Residents and can get a Town meeting within that time frame?

Let me know if you need more details?

…..Mike

Good Day to all,

I am looking to see if any city/town has experienced the demolition of a town owned building in a NHRD. It is our former Town Hall and we do have a DDB (only 9 months).

I received info from Chris Skelly from a prior concern regarding our Upper Green. Thankfully, no radical changes were made to it. It appears there is not much we can do as the HC, besides invoke the DDB and send a letter to the BOS regarding our viewpoint.

Anyone have any good ideas? Appreciate any assistance.

Thank you,

Janice Forrest, Secretary/Clerk
