The Town of Acton Land Use Department is accepting applications for a Cultural Resource Planner. This is a part-time position.
The Cultural Resource Planner has a wide range of duties and responsibilities in the areas of Historic, Community Planning, Community Preservation, Economic Development, and other related areas and activities that the Planning Division may engage in from time to time. Regulatory work is carried out in accordance with the Town of Acton bylaws and the governing Massachusetts General Laws and Federal laws, and requires close coordination with multiple other governmental agencies and their staff. The Cultural Resource Planner directly supports the Historic District and Historical Commission and leads engagement efforts to develop cultural resource planning projects to enhance Acton's cultural economy.
Minimum Entrance Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Planning/Community Development, public policy, landscape architecture, arts management, history or closely related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in the related field with a city, town or non-profit; experience with public engagement. Or, a combination of equivalent qualifications and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) or more years of front line work experience in a city or town government setting. Multi-language skills.
Salary: Hiring range $33.1794-$43.2916 per hour
