Rather than using a stick is it possible to educate the spray painters
about the harm that it does to historic brick buildings, particularly if
you want to take it off. Perhaps the Historical Commission could gather
some references to care of brick buildings and formally ask to be on the
agenda of selectmen for public buildings and some articles in paper for
private property owners pointing out as stewards of local history you
believe that they would want to know the negative aspects of spray painting
brick buildings - on the other hand many sides of brick buildings were used
to advertise the business within. Those may be historically significant???
A dilemma for sure. All easy for me to say as we have only a handful of
brick buildings in wayland and no commercial structures in brick.
