*         Nov 2, 8:30a-10a: "Climate Risk Webinar for Boston Cultural Trustees," hosted by the Boston Green Ribbon Commission.

o   This webinar is specifically developed for trustee fiduciaries of Boston's cultural institutions. The GRC invites and encourages all cultural institution board members, especially those in positions of legal, audit, and finance responsibility, and Executive Directors.

*         Sept 22, 3p-4p: "Civil Legal Issues of Natural Disasters: Libraries Can Help," hosted by WebJunction/OCLC.

o   Natural disasters strike everywhere. In their wake, communities are left reeling and many people turn to their libraries for support and information. Join this webinar to learn how to apply reference skills to support community members through this civil legal turmoil and guide them toward positive outcomes.

*         Recording Available: "Preparing for Extreme Weather: Fire and Hurricane," hosted by Connecting to Collections Care/FAIC.

o   In this webinar we will feature two examples of extreme weather, wildfires and hurricanes, and how staff at two institutions dealt with preparation, impact, and ramifications for these common types of extreme weather.

*         Sept 12-13: Preservation in a Changing Climate Conference 2022, hosted by Salem (MA) Preservation Partners ($).

o   Salem and surrounding communities are witnessing first-hand the damaging effects of climate change on historic properties and neighborhoods. Vested partners are tasked to identify and implement adaptation tools to make historic buildings and neighborhoods more resilient and sustainable. This conference will explore these tools including nontraditional solutions, experimental approaches and alternative building materials.

*         Sept-Nov (5 virtual sessions): Emergency Workshop Series, hosted by Association or Registrars and Collections Specialists ($).

o   During this five-part workshop series, Registrars, Collection Specialists, and other Museum Professionals will be presented with in-depth training on collections emergency preparedness and response.

COMING SOON! Disaster Kit Giveaway
Next month, COSTEP MA will distribute a limited supply of collections-response disaster kits to subscribers who demonstrate a commitment in enhancing their emergency preparedness. We have yet to determine the criteria for eligibility but stay tuned for more details. Thanks to the organizations that made this possible - the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation (FAIC) and the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT).
