Headstone Restoration at Historic Cemeteries

Bids Due: Thursday March 9, 2023 at 11am

The City of Salem is seeking bids from qualified contractors to undertake a three-year effort to conserve, restore, and repair headstones of varying conditions in Salem's historic cemeteries, returning them to sound functioning condition with the least alteration to their historic appearance. All work performed shall abide by the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works' Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice and the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Preservation. In addition, all work shall conform to the Technical Recommendations for Project Completion included in Attachment B, including documentation of all work performed on individual Gravestone Conservation Forms.
