Please see the below announcement of a free webinar offered by the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC). This webinar is not affiliated with nor hosted by the Massachusetts Historical Commission. If you have questions or would like to register, please contact the NAPC directly.

Design Review With Limited Resources: Working Without Professional Preservation Staff will be held on February 2, 2023 at 1 PM Eastern Time.

Attend a lively discussion with preservation leaders across the country as we discuss options for commissions that do not have dedicated professional preservation staff! While targeted to commissions without staff, all commissions will learn about getting creative with limited resources from this conversation.

Register for this FREE event here: https://tinyurl.com/42akynn4
For those that cannot join us live, register for the webinar as if you were going to attend live, and a recording will be emailed to you after the event.

AIA and AICP credits are available!

There are thousands of design review commissions throughout the country. Although they are all working toward the same goal-preservation of historic resources-they vary greatly in how they reach that goal, whether it is through how they conduct design review or through the scope of additional services they provide. The commissions also vary greatly on the type and number of resources they have available to them. Among the varying resources is the amount and type of staff support provided by the local governing body. Some have no staff. Others have some staff assistance but it may not be professional preservation assistance. Join NAPC CAMP trainers Robin Zeigler and Chris Wand as they lead a discussion with Mindy Crawford, Sarah Korjeff, Tim Leahy, and Laura Renwick, to explore different options for providing guidance to applicants and commissioners, when professional preservation resources are not available.
