Boston Building Resources offers classes on historic window repair and has supplies. I don’t prefer their rope (that has plastic inside) but the regular rope can be purchased online. While chains are an option. I prefer the silent sound of the rope and hearing the sometimes “subtle thunk” of a weight hitting another weight. https://www.bostonbuildingresources.com/window-restoration

Subject: [MassHistPres] Window repairs
Good morning, the Medway Historical Commission is working with the owner of an historical building in town on window repairs. We are trying to preserve the original windows rather than replace them. There are apparently broken panes, some wood is rotten and needs to be repaired. There are limited funds, the owner is hoping to do as much of the work as possible themselves. Any tips on resources that we can point them to for assistance? Thanks, and happy holidays to all.
