Hi Michael,

Here in Gloucester, we just had one of our four markers restored. It is
to be re-installed onto it's waiting post within the next 1-2 weeks.

The descriptions on each of the Gloucester markers were reviewed and
edited to current times by one of our local historians, though the
Gloucester Historical Commission (GHC) decided not to alter or remove
them, but to acknowledge the history of the time they were created
(1930). At some future point, GHC may add a QR code to each marker
showing a modified, updated description.

We used Skylight Studios in Woburn, recommended to us by the town of
Arlington, MA, who had their two markers restored by Skylight on
December 2020.

The cost of restoring our 200-pound, 36" x 44" iron marker was $3500.00.
Our Department of Public Works provided transportation.

I have attached the Gloucester Restoration Report for your review.

We also obtained a quote from Daedalus in Watertown, MA, who restored 11
markers in 2019 through MASS DOT, but their quote was significantly
higher than Skylight at $20,000.00 (which included work on the post).
