We have recently dismantled an 1813 tavern in Southborough including 21 interior walls. The building was in a remarkable state of preservation with original painted stencil in most of the rooms except for the front entry which appears to have been removed in the 1860's. With no photographic evidence we are looking at re-construction based on a few surviving details which consist of two empty mortise holes and the bevel of the end of the wainscot and chair rail and seats for headers in the posts. My question is how early were sidelights? and Does anyone know of a federal entry from this time period slated for demolition? Thanks for any help,
