[MassHistPres] Archaeology question

Hi everyone,

We have an interesting question come up on Nantucket. There is a subdivision proposed for a
portion of land.  On this land, a local digger has found arrowheads and indicates that there is
more there.  Does the local Historical Commission have any ability to make a request to review the
site?  Does the Planning Board have to request it from us?  When does the MHC get involved
(without remains on the ground.)

Also - I had tried in the past to get a bylaw into place regarding archaeological finds on
subdivisions, but it failed.  Does anyone have a good example of such a bylaw?
