The Essex National Heritage Commission seeks a project assistant to
provide administrative and general support for its heritage development
initiatives. Responsibilities include: comprehensive support to the
Partnership Grant Program; support and administration for ENHC annual
and special events, including Trails & Sails; scheduling and organizing
seminars, conferences, and meetings; maintaining and revising data on
EssexHeritage.org; updating and maintaining Access database; telephone,
reception, mail, merchandise request fulfillment, data entry and general
office support.
The mission of the Essex National Heritage Commission is to preserve and
promote the historic, cultural and natural resources of Essex County,
Massachusetts.
Minimum qualifications: B.A. or B.S. in history, marketing, tourism, or
equivalent; interest in the work of the Essex National Heritage
Commission; excellent computer skills are essential, including Word,
Excel, Access and Outlook; ability to work effectively with a team,
support multiple staff members, and work with partner organizations;
professional and friendly manner; excellent organization and attention
to detail. Valid drivers license required, the ability to travel within
Essex County, and availability to attend occasional evening or weekend
events are required of the position.
